ALMASIKA : Luxurious Form-Fitting Jewellery

Feel free to share:

ALMASIKA touches on the crux of how jewellery and body should interact and enhance each other. In a nutshell, ALMASIKA embraces multiple traditions of representation of bodily form as well as cultural heritages on beauty standards to create sculptural jewellery inspired by the universal symbols, shapes and stories that transcend cultural boundaries.

Softness and curves are their signature. The shapes of their pieces echo the lines of the body, cover them, enlace them.  Necklaces undulate delicately, bracelets twine, earrings nestle. The pieces come to life on contact with the body, and are designed to take you through the day and into the evening.

Contemplation, reflection, and discussion form the triple foundation of the ALMASIKA approach. From architects and art historians to engineers and artisans, cultural craftspeople act both as interlocutors and sources of inspiration, setting in motion an artistic and intellectual dialogue. Each has contributed to the genesis of the house’s powerful contemporary jewelry.

The « Berceau » 18k Gold Diamond Ring set with 56 white diamonds diamonds (there are multiple rings on the picture) is part of ALMASIKA’s « Berceau » collection. The Berceau collection, translated to English as « Cradle » wishes to reinterpret ancestral adornments with a simple band of gold and diamond undulating in an extension and celebration of the human body. The rings somehow mould on your finger, giving the impression that they are alive, move with you and deeply correspond to your individuality.

As a person who is normally not a fan of bracelets, I make an exception for the ALMASIKA « Berceau” bracelets which hug the wrist in such an elegant, light and unique way, you will fall in love with their luxurious subtlety.

ALMASIKA’s other collection for 2020 is “Le Cauri endiamanté », a reflection and revisitation of a natural treasure, rich with symbolism : the cowrie shell. Cowries have long been a symbol of prosperity, spirituality and fertility. From ancient times through to the late 19th century, cowries have been used as ornaments and even as currency in several African kingdoms, becoming synonymous with wealth and fortune. They are still used today in the Art of Divination and continue to be worn as a talisman in many cultures to bring good fortune. Above, you can see a pair of Cowrie gold and diamond earrings. Designed to look like they fell from the sky on the beach and you picked them up to wear as an hommage to Nature and its beautiful eccentricities, these precious earrings are the perfect blend of effortless and noblesse.
For men, the Cowrie cufflinks are just as beautiful and multiverse.
