A group of three very different fashion designers presented their collections at Couture Fashion Week New York, representing the imagination and vision of cultures from one end of the globe to the other.
Before the runway shows started, your Pynck.com reporter went back stage to exclusively show you another integral part of any fashion show: hair and make-up. Without the talented hair and make-up artisans, the show cannot go on. Let’s take a peek backstage, together.

Diana Magesa of Tanzania uses recycled materials to create a statement with her couture gowns.
Symbolic human effigies were placed on many models as head gear. Instead of a purse, this model carries a lizard.
Diana Magesa was born in Shinyanga, Northern Tanzania. Her winning costume design for the Miss Universe Tanzania competition launched her into the world of fashion design. She brings the concern for the global environment into each garment she creates.
By fashioning repurposed materials into unfamiliar silhouettes, Diana Magesa makes us think of the concept of fashion in a totally unique way.

Because the detailing of these gowns is so intricate and the lighting on the runway is so harsh, many of the fine points of these dresses are not evident in the runway images. So, your Pynck.com reporter asked a few of the models to pose for you after the show, on the red carpet, so you could see the sophisticated beading and details of the striking Fatou Ndene Ndieya gowns.
