THE prestigious Network Ireland Businesswoman of the Year awards will be going ahead when it is staged online and streamed live to hundreds of members around the country on 2nd October.

Network Ireland members will be at the annual awards this year online

Originally expected to be cancelled due to the uncertainty of the pandemic, the annual awards has been revamped to reflect the vast differences facing professional women since the onset of quarantine that has brought huge changes across working landscape.

The awards have opened for nominations across all branches in Ireland, featuring a host of new categories including professional and community work, designed to transform and create a new way to move forward through challenging times.

“My theme for this year is ‘Power Within’ and I am 100 percent confident our members will draw on that to make this (awards programme) a huge success,” said Network Ireland President Louise Meehan. “I have always been a big believer that we can get through anything if we draw from the power within ourselves. A lot of it comes from past experiences. You are drawing from all you have been through, the good, the bad as well as the in-between. Right now, we just need to pause to appreciate how resilient we are.”

The multifaceted awards night will be hosted by Virgin Media TV presenter Elaine Crowley. “The resourcefulness, resilience and determination of everyone in Network Ireland simply blows me away,” said Elaine Crowley. “This team is truly inspirational and although we can’t get together in October, I have no doubt it will still be a day to remember and I am honoured to play a part.”

Network Ireland members are being encouraged to complete the online application process by choosing a category reflecting the best primary area of focus and include all other contributions such as business and work. Online applications are being accepted at all branches within Network Ireland until Friday, 17th July, and national awards nominations will be announced in August.
