Jeremy Scott who has been ruling over Moschino’s eccentric empire since 2013 has always successfully disrupted his audience’s expectations right when they were just getting used to the designer’s latest awesome craze. But this year, Scott proved that his sleeves were even larger than anticipated as he was pulling out fashion tricks one by one. He imagined an entirely digital puppet show set in a miniature old school haute-couture salon lined with tiny white carpets and decorated with small crystal chandeliers, a fireplace and to no one’s surprise a shiny portrait of the couturier himself.
After an ironic altercation between Jeremy Scott and his double puppet where the latter got angry at real Jeremy (« This is not a puppet show, this is a fashion show ! »), the camera entered the room to film lilliputian wooden puppets walked down the fake runway to the sound of elevator music. With an inflated sense of humour that spoke to the intelligence of the public, Moschino managed to showcase a seriously breathtaking collection featuring fitted jackets, bucket skirts, cocktails gowns, ornate linings, capes and golden brocade suits. Moschino’s SS21 wardrobe uses a palette of soft and pastel colors: princess blue, pink, pastel green, rich golds. We can’t wait to see them scaled-up ! Special mention to the Jim Henson Creature Shop puppets, especially the perfect replicas of fashion’s big names forming the public.
