252 years ago, a group of artists made it their mission to form an annual exhibition to support artists and architects, by showcasing the art of the moment to the nation. The Summer Exhibition has run every year since.
This year, preparations have been a little different with committee meetings and gallery hangs taking place over Zoom. Despite the challenges it has taken to get here, we’re so happy to be finally opening the Summer Exhibition 2020 next week!
While social distancing measures have changed the way we can celebrate this year, we are committed to bringing the best of the RA – and the Summer Exhibition – to you wherever you are. Our Summer Explorer, the online platform to browse all the works, has had an overhaul and is ready for you to immerse yourself in a myriad of submissions by artists from across the world.
