Two days of thrilling races on the cards for the Cheltenham International
THE International returns to Cheltenham this Friday and Saturday, 11-12 December for 14 thrilling races including the BetVictor Handicap Steeplechase and Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase followed on Saturday by The Caspian Caviar Gold Cup and The Unibet International Hurdle.
Heading for the Grade 3 Caspian Caviar Gold Cup will be Master Tommytucker and Simply The Betts along with Paddy Power Gold Cup star Coole Cody. The form will be well represented with five of the six finishers on the card.
Windsor Avenue who is in fine form following wind surgery over the summer is set to make his first handicap appearance in the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup.
“At the moment Windsor Avenue definitely runs in the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup,” said trainer Brian Ellison. “He won his first two chases nicely last season and then he had a problem with his wind. We sorted that over the summer and we were very pleased with what we saw at Carlisle for the first run back.”
The Caspian Caviar Gold Cup comes with a purse of £105,000 while the big Grade 2 Unibet International Hurdle holds a prize fund of £112,000.
