Ascot ‘Follow The Foals’ series renews with a new crop to be named

THE renewal of the ‘Follow The Foals’ series is underway with the chance to name a future Royal Ascot winner, the current crop of six two-year-olds the latest to head into training and soon begin their racing careers.

The winners of the social media competition in association with Ascot Official Partner QIPCO will be selected by Sheikh Fahad, founder of Qatar Racing and racing manager and Tweenhills Farm and Stud UK owner David Redvers.

“All six were born at Tweenhills and it has been a pleasure to watch them grow and progress at the stud,” said David Redvers.

“They now take the next big step in their racing careers and head into training with their respective trainers.”

The latest crop includes a bay colt by Frankel out of Simple Verse, a chestnut colt by Dubawi out of Wekeela, a grey filly by Dark Angel out of La Rioja.

Havana Gold sired a bay filly by Stroll Patrol while Churchill sired a bay filly by Wind Fire and rounding off the crop is a brown filly by Deep Impact out of Lightening Pearl.

“They are all beautifully bred and have the potential to hopefully become something quite special,” David Redvers explained.

“Their names should reflect the Qatar Racing legacy and high quality pedigrees. Fingers crossed you could be naming a future Royal Ascot winner.”

Entries close at midnight this Sunday 14 February. The winning names will be announced on Sunday 21 February.
