Final chance to visit the stunning Paula Rego exhibition

We are thrilled to be reopening our galleries on Tuesday 11 May, this is the final opportunity to visit the extraordinary work of Paula Rego in her major exhibition Obedience and Defiance as it must close on 25 May.

We will also open a new display The Artist’s Mother: Lucie and Daryll, presenting the work of Chantal Joffe in dialogue with Lucian Freud, in the IMMA Collection: Freud Project. Also reopening is Northern Light an exhibition drawn from the exceptional collection of photography by Dr David Kronn; and the The DCU MELLIE Visual Voices project shown alongside the work Bok Gwai / White Ghost (2005) by Anthony Key.

From May we are excited to present a new programme IMMA Outdoors that activates the grounds with artist commissions, performances, workshops, tours, events, collaborations, social distanced spaces and cafés, creating a new radically public space for you to safely engage with IMMA and celebrate our 30th Birthday.

Our online programme continues with virtual exhibitions, talks, events and more for you to explore from home.

We look forward to welcoming you back to IMMA. Please book your exhibition tickets in advance and learn about your safe visit here.

Tracing Memories – Podcast

Tracing Memories is a series of podcasts which examines the role of art in our lives. The series is based on interviews with participants of Studio 10, IMMA’s long-running studio programme. These stories demonstrate the power and potential art holds to connect us with our memories and emotions. Episode 1, ‘Colours of Childhood’, presents early art encounters.
