THE theme of dynamic fashion and design inspired by the Irish dancehall culture of the 19th century will tell the story of timeless tradition while bringing fresh new elements at this year’s Showcase Ireland.

At the launch of Showcase 2023 were Oisin Geoghegan, Local Enterprise Offices (l-r) Showcase Chair Mary Palmer, Minister of State Dara Calleary, DCCI Head of Operations Mary Blanchfield and Teri Smith, Enterprise Ireland

Opening at the RDS Dublin this Sunday (22 January) and continuing until 24 January, Showcase Ireland 2023 will see the continuation of the successful Talks Stage hosting industry and panel discussions along with the exquisitely curated Edit. The annual Showcase Awards will take place on opening day while the final day (Tuesday) will see the launch of the Design & Crafts Council Ireland Academy.

Irish makers and designers will present many of their new collections sourced from sustainable materials

DCCI promotes local makers and designers with the theme of ‘Made Local, Made to Last’ and is the national agency for the commercial development of Irish designers and makers, promoting innovation and design creativity.

The annual trade show attracts more than 3,000 buyers from around the world, generating sales of over 20 million. More than 300 Irish brands are exhibited at the fair for the trade and retail industry including emerging Irish businesses. This year’s show will see even more Irish makers and designers aligning their products with sustainable and ethical brands to meet the rising demand for stronger sustainable fashion and design.

Sustainable designs run the gamut at Showcase this year from fashion to jewellery, homeware and accessories

Showcase Ireland serves as a launchpad for emerging Irish designers, manufacturers and craftspeople and their new season collections across fashion, health and wellbeing, jewellery, home and giftware. The fair features new products and designers unique to the show along with established Irish brands.
