The image above is from Matthew Brandt’s most sought-after series, Lakes and Reservoirs. The artist photographed American Lake in Washington and used water from the lake to soak, stain, and manipulate the c-print. The print was submerged for weeks until the colors and shapes appeared in bright washes of color as the emulsion of the chromogenic print is worn away by the lake’s water.

Marking Oliver Beer’s first exhibition with the gallery, Almine Rech Shaghai presents Recompositions: Night Revels. The central focus of this show is an interactive sound installation that features hanging porcelain receptacles with microphones that amplify each vessel’s own unique sound. In addition, mixed media works that feature broken shards of the same white and blue ceramics are on display, set in dark resin, overlapped with books, scores, and musical instruments.
