“There is no beauty, natural or chemical, good or bad,” said Vasudha Rai when she spoke to around 30 women in The Apartment at Kildare Village. “I love my Ayurvedic DIY’s as much as I love using retinols twice a week. Old traditions are being revived and there have been so many advances in the field of science and technology – a mix of everything.”

Tried and tested daily routines included those inherited from her Indian culture such as bathing her eyes in rosewater every morning, refreshing teeth, gums and tongue and mindful breathing. Vasudha added, “I think the most important thing to your skin is to manage your stress.”

Skincare line founder Sonia Deasy has strived for naturally formulated products, rigorously tested to the highest EU standards, resulting in just 13 in the collection. Go-to routines include four pints of water daily, the use of tamarind in her skincare line and the importance of cleansing before applying just one moisturiser: “What we are really saying is that our one moisturiser will work for everybody,” said Sonia Deasy. “What a moisturiser is meant to do is moisturise the skin. It’s really important to stick to the basics and not get carried away.”
