THE All Ireland Polo Club played host to a charity event in association with Kildare Village and Curated by Design Centre for the Injured Jockeys Fund amid the historic Novice Cup tournament, played alongside a fundraiser that featured well known Irish jockeys and trainers.

The fundraising event opened with a Bottega gold prosecco reception followed by afternoon tea before well known jockeys including Rachael Blackmore, Pat Taaffe, Nina Carbery, Gary Carroll, Sam Ewing and Colin Keane led by leading polo coach Alejo Aita Tagle lined out against the trainers. Tony Martin, Andy McNamara, Ado McGuinness, Gavin Cromwell, Tony Mullins and Sarah Lynam along with Bishopland Polo Club’s Tom Berney and Derville Meade played four-a-side in two friendly chukkas against the jockeys.

“There was such a tremendous job done on the day for us,” said Injured Jockeys Fund General Manager Michael Higgins when he spoke to more than 100 guests at the afternoon tea in the All Ireland Polo Club. “I want to thank the jockeys and trainers who gave their support to make the day the success it was and the generosity of people like yourselves and people who are in the industry.”

The Irish Injured Jockeys Fund at https://www.irishinjuredjockeys.com aims to provide for injured jockeys who are in most need of support while raising standards of care and safety.
The afternoon tea raised funds for the charity through secret donations and auction prizes sponsored by the K Club, Bective Stud and Kildare Village. The charity received support from Bottega, Saba, Joeanna Caffrey Flowers, Peter Mark, Keelings, My Name Is Ted, Total Event Rental, Christina Goldston, The Designed Table, Labstock Microservices, As You Like It and Horse Racing Ireland.
