It Took a Century – Women Artists & the RHA
National Gallery of Ireland

This National Gallery of Ireland and RHA collaboration showcases women’s membership of the Royal Hibernian Academy of Arts from the election in 1923 of the first woman member, Sarah Purser, to the first woman President, Dr. Abigail O’Brien, in 2018.
As part of the RHA bicentenary celebrations, the exhibition combines an historic survey of the past 100 years together with a presentation of work by current women members of the Academy.

In collaboration with NGI, we are delighted to offer RHA Friends (with valid RHA Friends card) and NGI Friends free tickets to this ‘In Conversation’ event with the RHA President and NGI Director on ‘It Took a Century: Women Artists and the RHA’ in the NGI’s lecture theatre.

If you are an artist who has sold work in the Annual, please ensure your contact details, including postal address provided in your submission, are correct for issuing payments in the form of cheques. If you need to make any updates to your contact details, please email sarah@rhagallery.ie.
Payments will be made to artists, who have sold artworks, by the end of September.

Architectural Presidents
Irish Architectural Archive

Architectural Presidents is the title of a new exhibition, as part of our 200th anniversary celebrations, now showing at the Irish Architectural Archive on Merrion Square.
The exhibition features portraits and the work of the six architects who have served as President of the RHA: Francis Johnson, Sir Thomas Drew, Sir Thomas Deane, Raymond McGrath, Arthur Gibney and Des McMahon PPRHA.

Kilkenny Arts Festival is celebrating its 50th year. In partnership with the Butler Gallery, the festival is presenting an exhibition exploring the spirit of sport as captured by a selected group of artists using diverse media.
Twenty-eight artists are featured including RHA Academicians; Dorothy Cross RHA, Colin Martin RHA Head of School and Amelia Stein RHA.
