A history of performance art
With Marina Abramović taking over the Main Galleries at the RA, we look at some other artists who have shaped the history of performance art.

Discover our latest selling art displays around the Keeper’s House. This display highlights the work of four contemporary artists exploring and depicting coastal environments through a diverse and exciting range of printmaking techniques, including Japanese woodcut, monotype, screenprint and intaglio.
On view in the Sir Hugh Casson Room and Belle Shenkman Room until 11 February 2024.
Clare Woods RA: Still Here
In the Shenkman Bar, we bring together a group of still-life prints by Clare Woods RA. Originating in the early phases of the 2020 lockdown as the outside grew less recognisable, Woods’ experience of her home catalysed a reseeing of the objects within.
On view in the Shenkman Bar until 3 March 2024. Friends have access to the Shenkman Bar and Garden until 4pm daily.
