A Lyric Theatre and Prime Cut co-production
The Pillowman
16 May – 15 June 2024 : Main Stage
Following the success of The Beauty Queen of Leenane, winner of a UK Theatre Award 2023, The Lyric and Prime Cut Productions are partnering once again with a new play, and we can’t wait to share it in all its funny and frightening glory.
From the ingenious mind of Martin McDonagh, celebrated for masterpieces like The Banshees of Inisherin, emerges a horror comedy that dissects the profound role of the artist in society. Widely hailed as one of the greatest plays of the past 25 years, The Pillowman compels us to contemplate the true cost of our cherished freedom of expression.
The show will have you laughing and trembling in equal measure, delivering a funny and terrifying experience that will linger in your memory long after the curtain falls.
A Lyric Drama Studio Production
Radium Girls
21 May – 1 June 2024: Naughton Studio
This year’s talented cohort from our award-winning actor training programme, Drama Studio brings Radium Girls to the stage this Spring.
1917 and the USA had just entered the First World War. Young women in New Jersey flocked to work for the US Radium Corporation – painting clocks, watches and military dials with a recently-developed luminous substance. It was a fun job, lucrative and glamorous – the girls shone brightly in the dark, covered head to toe in dust used to make the paint.
Radium Girls fiercely examines the commercialisation of science, the pursuit of health and wealth, the power of the underdog and the injustice labourers have faced, both in the past and the present.
A Bardic Theatre Production
The Ferryman by Jez Butterworth
3 – 6 April 2024: Main Stage
A gripping tale of betrayal, redemption, and secrets unearthed!
Brace yourself for The Ferryman by Jez Butterworth coming to the Lyric from Bardic Theatre. With over 40 years of work in Community Theatre across Mid-Ulster, we’re thrilled to be a host venue as part of this distinctive collaboration. Please note this an amateur theatre production.
