COPENHAGEN FASHION WEEK
S/S 2025:
THE KEY TRENDS
STALWART DENIM, STRIPES AND SHORTS CAME WITH INNOVATIVE TWISTS WHILE SWIMWEAR MORPHED INTO OUTERWEAR FOR HERALDING IN SCANDI SUMMER.

Forget about the age-old ‘Less is More’ adage when thinking of traditional Scandi fashion this time. Make no mistake though, the quintessential stripes were there, so was denim in every guise and shade but there was also an exciting thrust into the world of avant-garde and ‘More is More’, especially by the students of the fashion and textile academies, where fantasy and futuristic creations drew on period costume as well as science fiction for inspiration.
Another huge trend was sportswear-inspired offerings, these often bordering on gutsy grunge. Wide hooped stripes on a rugby jersey was paired with a lacy skirt and cheeky tartan pants. Many designers went as far as adding a rugby ball/football/netball to their creations to fully hammer home the sporty trend. (after all, Danish moms need to buy groceries, meet friends for lunch and do the school run… on their bicycles!)
Other noteworthy Spring/Summer trends included: Swimwear, which came in many guises and frequently morphed into slinky outerwear, shorts, Capri pants and the perennial classic, the trench coat was imperative as the nonchalant and oh-so elegant second layer of choice.
The 1980’s puff skirt also had its moment, as did the trend that designers have been flirting with for many, many seasons now – transparency. Textured textiles were a massive hit too.
Another quirky trend that reared its head was the ear extension headpiece (are designers trying to tell us something – and should we lend an ear?).
Blue denim in every shade was a huge colour trend, as were pastels and the colour pink.
We invite you to sit back and browse our selection of the top trends for S/S 2025, as variations on these themes will be competing for your wardrobe space and credit card come Spring 2025!
