Gran Canaria Swim Week is Europe’s uber-glamorous answer to the USA’s legendary Miami Swim Week.
Exotic runways flanked by shimmering seas delivered inspiring collections by industry stalwarts as well as up-and-coming new brands, each carving out their niche in the lucrative swimwear and intimates market. Both national and international talents were boldly on display, wowing with elegance, sophistication and glossy design.
Whether vintage-inspired, floral, geometric or simply sleek and classical, each brand made a memorable offering to the sea-gods, with front-row fashionistas lapping up the good vibes and the jaw-dropping designs – all under the scorching Mediterranean sun.

The geometry, graphic design and futuristic minimalism in this predominantly black-and-white range aptly named ‘Linea’ is most memorable.
The collection is inspired by pop-art, and definitely pops with uber-glamourous and chic design inspiration. Even the accessories are ‘wow’! Look out for their signature fragrance, ‘Palmas” to complete the look.

Tactile, textured, hand-crafted and beautifully designed, this collection speaks of the attention to the finest detail. The colours in every ensemble show a deep connection with nature, and the arid landscape that inspired the range is depicted in the earthy tones of the palette of olive, black, white, beige and brown, with some unexpected explosions of red.
This is undoubtedly a collection for strong and confident women – and for those who embrace femininity.

This super-luxe Italian brand was founded 30 years ago by Andrea Teofilatto and started life as a swimwear label, but has since become so much more: a total-look collection suited to not only the beach, but also for town as well as sleek eveningwear.
The current S/S 2025 collection is bold and graphic, celebrating tribal touches. It’s also wonderfully practical, comfortable and very, very elegant. Undoubtedly one of our ultimate favourites at the shows!

Aurelia Gil, based in exotic Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, is a local and seasoned swimwear designer, with over 20 years in the industry.
Her current collection ‘El Postre’ is a sorbet-kaleidoscope of ice-cream shades like chocolate, vanilla, chestnut, pistachio and lavender. Too edible for words!
Asymmetrical shapes, stripes and classical design combine to create a collection that is as practical and comfy-looking as it is crafty and beautiful.

Barcelona-based designer Raquel Perez ditched the traditional swimwear-staple of lycra decades ago and substituted it for cotton with its decided advantages of quality, comfort and longevity – a revolutionary move back in 2010.
The current S/S 2025 collection is Inspired by glamorous pin-up styles and endearing vintage swimsuits. Frilly peplums, turban swim hats, polka dots and ruffled ‘boob-tubes’ all give off desirable retro vibes. Silhouettes created in retro cotton and jacquard take us back to olde-worlde glamour on the beach. Slow fashion has never looked more appealing!

A household name for glamorous swimwear since 1999, Melissa Odabash started her design career when she was a swimwear model in Italy, wanting to create a range of luxe and exquisite swimsuits that she herself would want to wear.
The result is season upon season of wearable, elegant, timeless pieces that are impeccably cut and that sculpt and enhance every figure.

Mr&G Design is a relative newbie on the swimwear scene and was created by Moisés Rivero Galván in 2022.
The current collection is a tribute to Gran Canaria, celebrating the browns, corals and ochres of the landscape and appeals to those who appreciate fashion inspired by nature. The tactile craftiness of this collection is most iconic, the luscious fruit prints almost edible!

Palma de Majorca’s brand by designer Nuria Avellaneda, is “made by hand with exquisite materials, evokes the Mediterranean Sea, magical sunsets and hidden coves, white sand and, of course, all the women who visit the Balearic island every year in search of the sun”.
This glamorous and romantic brand is stocked by the best boutiques and hotels in Spain and adored by beach and poolside lovers everywhere. The female silhouette is always at the forefront of their design ethos, and these pieces evidently do what they do best: flatter, flatter and flatter!

Madrid-born and Central St Martins-trained designer Alejandra Alonso Rojas launched her brand in 2016, based around traditional and experimental handcrafts.
Her S/S 2025 collection impresses with hand-crocheted, body-sculpting pieces that are as effortlessly wearable on the beach as they are accompanying a pencil skirt to a glamorous dinner.
These contemporary pieces are versatile and textured, and bound to become timeless heirlooms in any wardrobe.

Undoubtedly a tribute to the azure seas and stunning natural landscape of La Palma, this collection is a platform showcasing local brands Rayco Plata, Shamelu, Julia Brito, Sara Luis and Ban.
It’s a combination of traditional sewing techniques, the use of recycled fabrics, embroidery, sculpture and handcrafting, and the end-result is a collection that is bold, vibrant and exotic. What a beautiful tribute to La Palma, truly a unique fusion of fashion and nature!
