This Easter break is the perfect time to see our current exhibitions. Explore Kith & Kin: The Quilts of Gee’s Bend featuring the work of African American women from a small Alabama community whose work have become symbols of Black empowerment. Immerse yourself in IMMA Collection: Art as Agency, a major display celebrating IMMA’s Permanent Collection showcasing the work of over 100 artists. This is also the last month to see the ground-breaking work of Hamad Butt in the exhibition Hamad Butt: Apprehensions, as it closes on 5 May 2025.
Join us on Saturday 5 April to celebrate International Slow Art Day, enjoy a rich programme of events featuring an immersive Sound Bath, engaging Drawing Workshop and a welcoming Slow Art Tour exploring the installation Woman in The Well by Joan Jonas.
IMMA and IPUT Real Estate are also excited to launch the Spring/Summer programme for Living Canvas at IMMA, Europe’s largest digital art screen on the grounds of IMMA. Join us on Thursday 11 April at 6pm for a panel discussion, reception and premiere of the epic new film work Alchemy by Clare Langan.

Slow Art Day

Join us to celebrate International Slow Art Day with a selection of events designed to encourage you to slow down, engage your senses and experience art in a new way. Explore a range of events including our Slow Art Tour, a guided tour which encourages us to delve deeper and spend time looking closely at an artwork; a Drawing Workshop to engage your senses with artist Renata Pękowska; and Sound Bath Meditation with Alchemy of Sound to help you slow down and relax using the sounds of crystal and Tibetan singing bowls.
Living Canvas at IMMA Spring/Summer Launch

IMMA and IPUT Real Estate invite you to the launch of the Spring/Summer Programme of Living Canvas at IMMA. The evening will include a panel discussion with artist, Clare Langan; IMMA Director, Annie Fletcher; IPUT Chief Executive, Niall Gaffney; and moderator journalist, curator and critic, Gemma Tipton. This will be followed by a reception and the special screening of Alchemy, 2023, a new film work by Clare Langan.
Seminar – Exploring Creative Practice at Sensitive Sites

Join us for a stimulating seminar of talks that explore creative practice at sensitive sites and places associated with conflict, oppression, confinement and other harms. Moderated by cultural historian Lisa Godson, speakers include ANU Productions, plattenbaustudio, artist Brian Hand and Culturstruction.
Parent & Baby Hour

IMMA welcomes all new parents to join us for Parent & Baby Hour at the Museum. Our Visitor Engagement Team will provide a relaxed tour and space for discussion about the artwork in our galleries. Relax, immerse yourself in art, while also nurturing your imaginative and creative side with baby looking on. This session is directed at parents with young babies who are not yet mobile.
Fruition at IMMA
New Café

1 May / Indoor Café Opens
We are delighted to introduce Fruition at IMMA, our brand-new café! From 8 April Fruition will be serving coffee, pastries and sandwiches, from their coffee van in the Courtyard while they prepare the indoor café for a fresh new beginning. To celebrate opening at IMMA, Fruition will be offering all coffees at the exclusive price of €1 on 8 April for one day only. The indoor basement café will open on 1 May.
Turas Treoraithe trí Ghaeilge

Bígí linn sa ngailearaí do thuras neamhfhoirmiúil trí Ghaeilge ar cheann d’ár dtaispeántais.
Join us in the gallery for an informal tour as Gaeilge on one of our exhibitions. This 30 minute tour is an opportunity to find out more about the artworks while engaging with the Irish language. All levels of Irish speakers are welcome, a relaxed way to practice your ‘cúpla focal’!
