Dior Haute Couture AW17
Dior Haute Couture AW17
Les Invalides, Paris
Another spectacle to arise from Paris last week was the Dior Haute Couture AW 17 show, from the house’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri. The themes for this show were exploration, adventure and curiosity. Therefore the set was very fitting, with plants and wooden animals, with the whole thing replicating a ‘fashion jungle’ outside one of the historic and stunning Parisienne landmarks.
As with most of Chiuri’s collections for the house, there was some serious homage paid to the founder, with classic pieces, with a slight current update to them. Overall a collection that brought the fashion house forward, yet still remained true to the classic Dior style.
Stand out pieces from the collection was the velvet ‘technicolour coat’ with a stunning coloured long skirt peeking through the bottom, and the intricately crafted Tarot card coat.
Hair and make-up was kept very minimal and natural, with a messy wavy texture to the hair, pulled back into low ponytails.
