The winner of the title was Niamh Daniels. She graduated from Limerick in fashion and design uses paintings drawings and photography combined with print design to create her textiles.

Irish fashion innovations awards at the Galmont Hotel in Galway 2018
The ones to watch in the fashion section are the following
- Denise Thomas
- Pearl Reddington
- Barbara Hewson
- Amie Egan
The fashion designer of the year was Sarah Murphy a graduate of Griffith College. Her debut collection was part of Create Brown Thomas she is now sold alongside Simone Rócha and Molly Goddard at the Havana Boutique in Ballsbridge, Dublin. The other contenders were the following:
- David Ó Malley (a graduate from NCAD)
- Sara O’Neill with Éadach a range of limited edition prints
- Ros Duke – a cashmere knitwear label
- Dolly Delinquent – Dublin based fashion designer
- Amanda Eustace
A wonderful event, which demonstrates the vaste amount of design talent present in Ireland. It’s great to see the bright future of the fashion industry in Ireland.
