Chupi Celebrates 5th Birthday and SS18 Collection

Feel free to share:

Chupi is a multi-award winning jewellery brand founded by former Topshop designer Chupi Sweetman. Irresistibly drawn to “wild and natural things” Chupi’s aesthetic is influenced by the imperfect natural beauty of feathers, twigs and leaves complemented by the sparkliest of gemstones. Their signature piece is the I Can Fly Swan Feather Ring cast in solid sterling silver and plated in 18k gold from a delicate swan feather found along the banks of Dublin’s Royal Canal. They create a delicate jewellery collection made for your inner magpie, with fans around the world from London to Tokyo. Each piece is designed, manufactured and finished in Ireland.

As Chupi says she ”was the kid covered in glitter & glue, the one making some new crazy things out of papier mâché, I never thought I’d end up making beautiful sparkly jewellery as my career. When I was 21 I was scouted by Topshop from my first year in college, the youngest designer to ever to work with the brand. I went from scruffy student to serious designer overnight and I loved it. After six years in fast fashion I wanted to create something that would last, to celebrate Ireland’s design heritage and my love for wild and natural beauty. I’ve always been fascinated by jewellery, how serious jewellery marks a moment in your life. I fell in love with sparkly things; now every piece I make has a story, it’s where the magic is.“

The Jewellery

Everyone who attended the launch were the first to see the SS18 Collection – gorgeous crowns and headpieces, stunning black and grey diamonds, new glittering engagement rings for the modern bride and lots of new solid gold favourites.

All of the jewellery is handmade with love in Ireland. Ireland has an incredible wealth of creative talent and craftsmanship, and is known for its rich design heritage. It is also famous for its unique natural beauty which serves as a key inspiration in the design process. They are very proud to say their jewellery is made in Ireland, loved everywhere.
