Tiger Wood Fire Pizza Opens Its Second Dublin Location On The Deansgrange Road

With a busy take away and delivery outlet established in Rathmines, the Tiger Wood Fire Pizza brand is expanding and opening their second Dublin location in the leafy suburbs of south Dublin on the Deansgrange road. Tasty, fresh and delicious sourdough pizzas are what customers can expect from the new Tiger Wood Fire Pizza in Deansgrange.

Tiger Wood Fire Pizza founder, Tadhg Leonard was determined to create a pizza takeaway like no other even by reviving traditional methods of pizza making. Tadhg created his own unique sourdough culture which is added to 4 basic ingredients; 00 flour, water, salt and olive oil to make the distinctive Tiger Wood Fire Pizza sourdough base. In respecting culinary tradition, Tiger Wood Fire Pizza follows a unique 4 day long process to achieve the perfect sourdough base:

Day 1 – The process begins by firstly feeding Tadhg’s homemade sourdough culture daily and leaving it to prove for 24 hours.

Day 2 – The culture is then blended with water and flour to make a liquid starter that proves for a further 24 hours.

Day 3- The liquid starter is mixed into a firm dough before being separated into dough balls, rolled by hand by skilled Pizzaiolos and left to prove for a another 24 hours.

Day 4 – Each dough ball is opened by hand before being topped with fresh ingredients and cooked to order in the Tiger Wood Fire Pizza ovens.

Cooked to order, using the best ingredients Tiger Wood Fire Pizza are pride themselves on their low food miles and supporting local artisan producers. Customers can enjoy toppings such as Toonsbridge Fior di Latte Mozzarella, local organic spinach and rocket as well as smoked scamorza, chorizo and serrano ham all from local Irish farms.

Commenting on the new store opening, founder Tadhg Leonard says; “Opening our second restaurant shows that dedication to our ancient craft of pizza making is what the Irish customer wants, our pizzas are tastier, fresher and better for you than other takeaways – our sourdough is naturally better for digestion and our fresh ingredients speak for themselves. Our ethos at Tiger is to use the best local produce, cooked fresh, from scratch. We are proud to partner with Irelands finest Artisans and offer customers the best pizza toppings, locally sourced and contributing to the Irish economy.”

Tiger Wood Fire Pizza cook their pizzas in a Neapolitan Wood Fire Oven with sustainably sourced kiln dried Ash and Oak oven that reaches temperatures of over 450 degrees and cooks pizza in minutes giving that fresh Wood Fired taste that only an authentic wood burning oven can achieve.

Customers can also enjoy delicious starters like Garlic Sourdough Bread and Spring Onion Focaccia, traditional pizza flavours such as Classic Margarita and tasty craft pizza flavours such as Serrano, Calabria and Rebel Rad. Desserts include Chocolate Brownies and Tigers own Sweet Berry Pie – a customer favourite flavour combination of Nutella and dusted mixed berries on toasted sourdough.

Tadhg Leonard, Founder of Tiger Wood Fire Pizza:

Tadhg Leonard enjoyed a very successful 13 year career in corporate sales for companies like Nikon UK and LG UK, with responsibility for huge targets and large teams. It was that obsession with creating the perfect pizza that saw Tadhg leave his successful career in corporate sales in 2016 to pursue his passion for pizza and quality Italian food full time.

Tiger Wood Fire Pizza opened its doors on Oct 3rd 2016 to and was an instant hit with the local community of Rathmines in Dublin 6. Tadhg has continued to work both on and in the business to continuously improve the product and the service, and is delighted to open his second outlet in Deansgrange on 14th June. The future looks bright for Tadgh and the team at Tiger Woodfire Pizza as plans for further expansion are underway.
