Peter McVerry Trust – Winter Newsletter 2019

Feel free to share:

Since our last newsletter in April, the number of people impacted by homelessness continues to rise, as over 10,397* people are officially recorded as homeless. Our work to help people secure homes and move towards a stable future is more important now than ever.

In this issues of Opening Doors, you can read about how we have expanded our delivery of Housing First to 14 local authorities around Ireland, making Peter McVerry Trust the largest provide of this housing model in the country. The Repair and Lease Scheme, which sees formerly vacant and unused properties brought back into use continues to expand as we have recently renovated homes in Cork, Dublin and Louth.

Read about the ways that, with your support, we have been able to open new housing developments, help families on their journey out of homelessness, and provide education and training initiatives to young people who are most vulnerable.

Your generosity continues to make a difference to the lives of people experiencing homelessness. I hope that you will choose to support Peter McVerry Trust this Christmas. Our selection of Christmas cards are now available on our website, as are tickets to our Annual Carol Concert, which takes place in St. Patrick’s Cathedral on December 7th 2019.

With your support, we can continue to move people out of homelessness for good. Thank you.
Yours sincerely,

Anne-Marie Connolly
Director of Fundraising
