Charlotte Posner – a new breed of artistic talent
British contemporary artist, Charlotte Posner, is a new breed of artistic talent, driven by a passionate need to create art as expression. Her style and popularity exploded onto the public scene in 2014 when she received her first Royal Academy placement as part of the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and was profiled on BBC TV Culture Show. A Social media frenzy then erupted when she first introduced her ‘Pop Dolls’ series to the public in 2015. Coca-Cola, Walls, Kellogg’s, Nails INC and Disney all complimented the works and one piece later became the creative for the Magnum UK social media platforms.
In the face of severe dyslexia, Charlotte’s undaunted creative approach shows extraordinary versatility. No ordinary artist, Charlotte has now collaborated with some of the world’s leading luxury brands and retailers, and has developed collections of gifts to sit alongside her art creating a 360 approach to her artistic expression.
Inspired by people, places and popular culture from all over the world, Charlotte’s signature art style is distinguishable by its expression of shape and form, colour and confidence. Charlotte uses her art to transcend the invisible barriers that divide us and evoke emotion. Although working in a variety of media, it is traditional dip-pen and ink with acrylic and watercolour that she has become most noted for.
Charlotte’s work is highly collectable with an international following and requests for commissioned works by private collectors and corporates. Art shows are held twice a year to showcase her latest pieces. Charlotte believes artwork should be accessible, so releases a series of limited edition signed prints of 50-100 for Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter.
Charlotte’s hand painted artworks are translated into products across a range of categories; each item in the collections is a little piece of Posner art. The range include fashion, homeware, candles, stationery, and accessories.
In 2018, Charlotte and entrepreneur Lady Jeanne Davies created parent company Posdav Ltd. The pair met fortuitously thanks to their mutual love of art, Jeanne having seen Charlotte on a TV program about the Royal Academy of Art’s Summer Exhibition.
With their team of talented, like-minded women, together they launched gift collection exclusively in Brown Thomas, part of the Selfridges Group, in Dublin and created the bespoke in-store Christmas Wrap for 2018. Thanks to the overwhelming success of the new brand, Charlotte was invited back to join the Marvel Room 2019 and create a new wrap inspired by the Orient Express theme.
We are just starting to see the true breadth of Charlotte’s talent at work, and her approach to art captures a long awaited sense of excitement for all of us.
