Green Circle – Sustainability Showcase
Green Circle – Sustainability Showcase, is an initiative intended to promote in international markets, the excellence of Portuguese textile products in terms of sustainability and circular economy. For NEONYT, the organizers invited some Portugal’s upcoming or established designers to create a piece with the materials of some sustainable textile companies selected, all made in Portugal.
The designs the above mannequins are wearing show the inventiveness of a country often forgotten by the public. Portugal is gifted with a history of elaborate weaving techniques, art and literature which its inhabitants have always built upon, regenerated and transformed. It was a privilege to see fractions of anonymous designers’s collections and encourage their imminent recognition.
Hovering over the frontier between sportswear and workwear, Lemar offers an original and satisfying design to the eye. The prints are especially energising.
