As we continue to prepare for beauty and hair salons and spas returning to work in just over 8 weeks’ time, ABT and Irish Beauty are working on our comprehensive ‘back to work’ guide. We know from talking to our ABT members and readers that salon owners want to do things properly, follow all of the guidance available and ensure the health and safety of their clients and staff.
But I know it’s frustrating having to wait until Phase 4 for businesses to open, and it’s tempting to think the rules can be bent to offer the odd treatment or hair cut to clients desperate for your services. However, to prevent a second wave of Covid-19 infection, it’s vital that you continue to follow the national guidance and do not open your salon or treat clients in yours or your clients’ homes until the right provisions are in place and it is deemed safe to do so.
What you can do now is let clients know that 20th July is the date you are working towards reopening, and use social media and digital marketing to reassure them that you will be following the recommended industry and government guidance and that their visit to you will be made as safe as possible.
