NOMAD Cosmetics Multi-Chrome Disco Collection inspired by Studio 54
It is the late 1970s, on a gritty New York City street lined with drugs, prostitutes, and burned out cars, Studio 54 is born. Behind the seedy exterior was a place frequented by Andy Warhol, Grace Jones and other trend-‐setting celebs, co-‐mingling with creatives and commoners alike. With glittering lights flashing overhead and disco beats pulsing all around, the new generation of thinkers and creators embraced one another’s individuality and set the tone for generations to come. Studio 54 was not only the place to be, it was the place to be free.
DESTINATION 54TH STREET: STUDIO 54 AS INSPIRATION
NOMAD’s latest destination culminates a journey through time to New York City’s late 1970s haunt: Studio 54. Studio 54 opened its doors 43 years ago on April 26th, 1977 to provide a space for musicians, artists, and free-‐thinkers to gather and create together; it was a place where exclusivity was about inclusivity. NOMAD’s latest palette is a celebration of Studio 54’s inclusivity and the room it created for so many people to flourish, regardless of who they were or who they loved. The NOMAD x New York Studio 54 palette is richly inspired by the forward-‐looking nightclub and the disco era, specifically the culture of inclusivity and life as an experiment of fun. The palette echoes the flair and flamboyance of each night’s glittering party.
GLIMPSE INSIDE: THE PACKAGING AND PRODUCT
NOMAD x New York Studio 54 draws inspiration from the famed nightclub in both its spirit and aesthetic. The palette’s outer carton of graphic, black and white graffiti meant to represent the view from the outside of the club. Gritty and dark but populated by eager clubgoers and famous people dressed to the nines. The “54” logo in the center of the packaging provides the peak inside, representing that awe-‐inspiring glimpse into the club every time the door is opened. The primary package, like the product itself, is a reflection of the club’s design. Richly saturated and packed with glitter, the finish reflects the dazzling, unexpected experience of Studio 54 itself. Once opened, the product within transports one to the dance floor, disco balls included. The contrast presented in the palette’s outer carton and primary package is a direct
reflection of the rich creative energy of Studio 54 breaking through the gritty streets of New York City Midtown.
Multi-Chrome Discolighters
Show-stopping highlighters that offer a prismatic, highlighting effect. “Hot Shot” is a pink-shifting shade inspired by the queens of disco, and the gold-shifting “Disco Nights” draws inspiration from the party itself. Both the Discoshadow Palette and the Discolighters are designed with a unique multi-chrome formula for a prismatic, sheer crystal chrome effect and are infused with caffeine for all-night staying power. All products are also PETA Certified Cruelty-‐Free and Vegan, Talc and Gluten‐Free, and free of Parabens, Phthalates, and Mineral Oil.
NOMAD x New York Studio 54 will be available on nomadcosmetics.com starting on April 29, 2020 for $19 each.
