What is the first thing you’ll do when things go back to normal? Looking to the future is so important right now, it keeps our spirits up and allows for some creative escapism. Set your projects in stone by encouraging your little ones to join in in creating your very own bunting. Discuss together what you would like to do when you can go out once again, then take turns in writing these plans on each flag, and get creative by adding drawings, glitter and lots of colour! Once each flag is beautifully decorated, punch a hole at the top, Thread a string of fairy lights through each hole and hang your bunting up with pride.
What’s more, when it is safe to do so, your can hold a mini-celebration in your home or garden and decorate for the occasion with your bunting. This will be a small but significant symbol of hope during your time indoors, and then, once it is all over, a wonderful memory of time spent together.

Children have limited concept of time, so understanding when staying at home will come to an end is hard. the key to keeping perspective is to constantly remind ourselves the things for which we are grateful. Practice this with your little ones by taking time each morning to write down one object, person, gesture or moment you are truly grateful for. We guarantee this will help start your day in good spirits. Fold the note up and place it in an illuminated jar. As days go by, the jar will begin to fill, if you want to get creative, cut the paper into shapes such as hearts or stars. Not only will you have a personalised decoration, but you will equally have a constant reminder of everything you are grateful for, even when times are tough

We know how essential engaging activities are for children right now, and we believe that fun can be had in any type of space. Prepare a woodland themed bug treasure hunt for your little explorers. Give them a list of bugs and woodland features for them to search for either in your home or in the garden. Get them to team up or work individually, you can set a time limit for older children to make things even more interesting. Once the hunt complete, reward your explorers with a small treat for their expert foraging skills. Children are fascinated by insects. Attract some further attention from bug life during the evening by wrapping solar lights into a bush in the garden just for bug watching.

Star of the week is a tradition seen in many schools, and can easily be carried through to your homeschooling. Rewarding great efforts has never been more motivating. As your little ones work hard each day, celebrate their accomplishments by hanging artwork, notes and homework to this star peg fairy light string, awarding them a star for each achievement. This will not only help your little one feel celebrated but will also create an uplifting atmosphere throughout the entire home each day
