Ashford Castle voted No 1 Resort Hotel in UK & Ireland

Ashford Castle has been voted the No 1 Resort Hotel in the UK and Ireland by Travel + Leisure a monthly travel magazine published in New York City, it has 4.8 million readers.

The Award forms part of the Travel+Leisure ‘World’s Best’ awards.  Niall Rochford, General Manager at Ashford Castle said  “We are proud to add the ‘World’s Best’ award to our many accolades, which also include a recent Forbes Five-Star, making Ashford Castle the only hotel to achieve this status in Ireland”

The Top 10 list of resort hotels is top heavy with Irish venues,  the beautiful Ballyfin House in Co Laoise is in 2^nd place, followed by Powerscourt Hotel in 4^th position, Sheen Falls in Co Kerry in 5^th place, The K Club in Straffan Co Kildare (6^th)  Ballnahinch Castle Hotel, Co Galway (7^th), Dromoland Castle, Co Clare (8^th) and Adare Manor (9^th).  All of which augurs well for Ireland as a tourist destination when people start to travel again.   In the meantime, congratulations to everyone involved, wonderful kudos for the Irish hospitality industry during these difficult times.
