Breast Cancer Ireland – Great Pink Run
THE VIRTUAL GREAT PINK RUN OCT 17TH & 18TH
Due to Covid19, we have made the decision to make the Great Pink Run a virtual event. We need your support more than ever!
We are asking you to help us run the circumference of the globe for Breast Cancer this October. Run, jog, walk or wheel, the more KM you log, the quicker we can reach our goal of turning the world pink for Breast Cancer.
How does it work?
- Register for the Great Pink Run above
- Receive your Run Pack in the post, take a selfie in your pink tee!
- Lace up your running shoes and get running, jogging or walking on the 17th or 18th of October. More selfies please, and use#GreatPinkRun
- After you have taken part, log your distance here
- Watch the KM go up & the world turning pink!
Well done, you have helped us turn the world pink for Breast Cancer. Time to put your feet up!
Please share your pictures on @greatpinkrun as we strive to turn the globe pink that weekend
It doesn’t matter what level of fitness you have. You can walk, jog or run the 5km or 10k distance. Set your own personal target over the 6 week lead in period. We will give you a Couch to 5k programme to assist you along the way. Get the whole family involved and set up a competition with your friends and relatives. Respecting social distancing you can walk the perimeter of the garden, up and down the road, around the block and you can do this as many times as is necessary.
2. Get fit and active
The one positive outcome from this covid pandemic is that we have more time on our hands. We are not racing to and from work, dealing with traffic and facing family chores in an altogether hectic environment. If nothing else it has thought us to prioritise and now is your time. 30 mins a day of exercise out in the fresh air gives a massive physical and mental boost to your body. Lets use this positive boost to its best and support the Great Pink Run Virtual this year.
3. Your participation has a big impact
This year more than ever we wanted to celebrate our 10th anniversary in style. We still can and with your help we will. We raised over €600,000 last year and we supported pioneering collaborative research into metastatic disease of breast cancer – this year for our 10th birthday, we are asking you to raise €100 … ask 10 people to support you with a donation of €10.00 Can you do it? Can you help us continue our pioneering research so that we can transform this disease from often being fatal to a treatable illness that can be maintained longterm.
Race for A Cure
With a 10k Challenge as well as a 5k Fun Run, Jog or Walk, there IS something for everyone, men, women and children as everyone knows someone who has been affected. This is a great way to come out and show your support and help us in our Race for a Cure.
