Bright Ideas for Christmas Gifting from Irish Industrial Design Studio Kopper Kreation

The brevity of daylight and nearly omnipresent cloud cover of an Irish winter means that for many months of the year, our homes are nearly always in need of a little more light. From tealights to traditional lamps, if you are looking for bright ideas for Christmas Gifts this year, industrial homewares brand KOPPER KREATION has a lighting solution for every home.

Hand crafted by Emmet Bosonnet in his Dublin studio, each piece is made using reclaimed copper, brass or iron, materials that otherwise would have been discarded. The Small Triangle based Lamp (from €100 each) makes a fantastic gift on its own or given as a pair, and the featured bulb can be customised to suit the recipient’s taste with classic and diamond shapes available.

Kopper Kreation is an industrial homewares brand that uses reclaimed and recycled materials to create unique and eye-catching homewares. Emmet Bosonnet is the creator and founder. He is from Swords in North County Dublin and has a degree in Engineering. Emmet has always been inspired by industrial design and has a keen eye for practical and functional products. Emmet loves the raw materials of Copper, Steel and Brass and is inspired by all things industrial and finding alternative uses for items that tend to be disregarded or sent to a recycling centre or landfill.

Sustainability is at the heart of the Kopper Kreation ethos and Emmet strives to use reclaimed and recycled materials and packaging as much as possible. Emmet loves to spend as much time as possible down in the local scrap yard sifting through the various treasure that people throw away.

All products are handmade and finished to enhance the natural qualities of the different raw materials. Emmet loves the natural patina that develops with metal in time, in particular the beautiful greens and blues that develop in copper over a longer period of time. All Kopper Kreation products are produced with longevity in mind and production techniques that ensure they are to last a lifetime.

Emmet works from his studio/shop in The Chocolate Factory which is a vibrant creative community in the heart of Dublin 1. Here he makes and sells his own work and also the work or other creatives in the building and other Irish designers of a similar vein who he has met along the way. It’s open Wednesdays to Saturdays and is called ‘Raw Material – Industrial Design Store’

Emmet is happy to produce bespoke and unique items and always loves to hear people’s ideas and work with individuals and businesses collaboratively. If you have your own particular project you would like to work on please get in touch and Emmet would be more than happy to help!
