Broadcasting from 12 noon until 26 December on radio and streaming online until January, the sponsored Christmas FM festive radio show intends to raise over €200,000, enough funds for more than 20,000 hours in support for older people aging at home and every listener and online viewer can help.

Christmas FM platforms on radio, online and on app launched 13 years ago and has raised almost €2.5 million for a variety of charities.

“The radio station creates a feel-good festive factor that is unrivalled anywhere else and we look forward to sharing that with everyone at Alone, staff, volunteers and of course all who avail of its wonderful service,” said Christmas FM co-founder Garvan Rigby. “As sponsorship pays the running costs of the radio station this means that all monies raised on air through donations can go directly to Alone and we look forward to raising as much as possible this year for such a worthy cause.”

Alone’s ‘Give the Gift of Home’ campaign raises funds to support older people through loneliness and poverty, homelessness, housing and medical issues amid an increasingly aging Irish population.
