Wine Upstairs @ Forest Avenue Grocers
Wine Upstairs are situated on the mezzanine floor of Forest Avenue in Donnybrook, just before Leeson Street Bridge. The collaboration between wine importer WineMason and Forest Avenue the well known restaurants aims to provide their customers with a stylish, gastronomic shopping experience.
There are 120 handpicked wines, and the diverse, unique selection are predominately organic and biodynamic from Portugal, Austria, Germany and South Africa, Italy, Spain and France.
The store is a welcoming space that was made to house wine. With brown leather stools, oak table and wood cladded walls, you may be forgiven for thinking you have stumbled upon a trendy wine store in Brooklyn. The shelves are laid out by style, region or grape e.g. “Mountains & Islands”, “Rich Whites” and “Winter Reds”. Barbara Boyle (Master of Wine) and Sinead McCarthy (WSET Diploma student) are on hand to offer advice and help customers find wines they will enjoy.
Opening hours for Wine Upstairs are 11am – 5pm Monday to Wednesday and 11am – 7pm Thursday to Saturday. They can also deliver wine directly to customers.
