With 18 awards categories including 10 regional and seven for specialists as well as the British Hairdresser of the Year to be named from among nominees, the awards represent the diversity of hairdressing’s technical skills alongside all areas of the British Hairdressing industry. In its 37th year the ‘Oscars of the hair world’ sponsored by Schwartzkopf Professional has broadened entry criteria as a reflection of entrants’ needs and for broadened accessibility criteria.

“We are always looking at ways to evolve the British Hairdressing Awards and so at a time when we have all had to adapt to a new normal we felt that the awards should reflect this,” said Jayne Lewis-Orr, Hairdressers Journal Executive Director. “The record number and quality of entries in 2020 demonstrated just how important this event is to the hairdressing community and we are all excited to see the work that is submitted.”
