2016 Own Selection Brunello di Montalcino

The latest vintage of our Brunello di Montalcino has just arrived. It’s made for us by Fattoria La Màgia, a small organic estate run by Fabian Schwarz. Davy Żyw, our Italy Buyer, says the ’16 vintage is “nearly perfect”. It’s rich with notes of black cherries, dried flowers and smoky minerality.

Our Italian spring menu

This week, Stewart Turner has put together a delicious three-course, Italian-inspired feast. It features a starter of heirloom tomato tart with creamy burrata and olive; a main of osso bucco with bone marrow crust, saffron and wild garlic gnocchi; and a dessert of vanilla pannacotta with blood orange and hazelnut crumble. You’ll find a selection of Italian wines chosen by Barbara Drew MW to complement the dishes.
