Meet the Top Three Fashion Graduates that Launched Swimwear Lines in 2021

Feel free to share:

With schools and studios closed and access to materials limited, the students had to rely on themselves during their senior year, finding different ways to cope. In the end, most reported feeling empowered by finding creative solutions to the obstacles the pandemic put in their way. As they prepare to enter the industry, they are thinking much about sustainability and inclusivity, believing that fashion needs to expand its reach so that it can be a powerful tool of self-expression and representation for a broader group of people.

Here PARAISO pics, the work of three fashion graduates that launched their swimwear brands in 2021.

To perfect the art of leisure, using comfortable cool, fitted, quality clothing, designed for confidence.

“ Along my 8-year journey working in retail, I found the formula of what, to me, makes quality clothing. The value of a great fit and comfortable feel, the power of color and basic pieces, the importance of fabric and functionality.  After graduating from Parsons in NYC and studying Luxury Brand Management at Istituto Marangoni in Miami, I was motivated to create a brand of his own:  inspired by the aesthetics and lifestyle of my back yard, Miami Beach. Born and raised in Miami, I created SAMMY out of my own desire for well-fitted, well-made clothing designed for warm-weather destinations.” – Clark Samuel

For vacation lovers and resort dwellers, SAMMY provides quality slim fit swim play, and activewear that will keep you feeling cool, looking sophisticated, and easily transition from one leisure activity to the next.

The Swim’in G mission is to bring out your inner superhero by making you feel confident in the swimmie you’re sporting, and taking that confidence with you on every little adventure life takes you on. One being, giving back to our oceans.  All of Swim’in G swimmies are made with an ocean of love, using eco-friendly sustainable techno-fabric, made of ECONYL® regenerated Nylon.

“Ever since I was just a little tadpole, I knew I loved fashion, traveling, people, the outdoors, all the sea critters you can think of, and above everything, putting a smile on someone’s face, even if it’s just one person a day. Made in Miami, Florida with Cuban and Spanish parts, Mum and Dad raised me to never take my blessings for granted, and love all things around me wholeheartedly.

With the ocean as my backyard, I spent most of my teen years going off into the deep blue and exploring every inch of it I can grasp. My dream was to find a way to take my fascination with the ocean and turn it into my career.

Pursuing my dreams, I studied fashion at FIDM in Los Angeles and later on at Istituto Marangoni Miami. Along the way, I worked at a swimwear boutique as the assistant designer for their private label. After gaining experience in the swim world, I was eager to start my own line dedicated to all the badass ocean lovers out there… and that’s when Swim’in G was born.” – Gabriella Montells
