In a recent staycation for InThePynck, the formerly walled town of Trim was a delightful discovery of fashionable boutiques by Irish brands and designers, easily walkable and always the iconic Trim Castle in the background.

Up close and personal, the castle with its curtained walls and towers sits just opposite the 12th Century Trim Castle Hotel, the home of ‘Braveheart’ and the redubbed ‘King John’s Castle’, and quite comfortably beside staycation destination of Trim Castle Hotel.
While the largely stone-wrought hotel pays homage to its stately neighbour its sympathetically designed edifice receives a contemporary aspect from the glass-and-steel edifice presented to the nearby town and in stunning vistas to the castle.

Currently open for breakfast, Jules Restaurant looks over part of the town of Trim while in the evening for delicious steak and chips in Bailey’s Bar there are glimpses of Trim Castle, and for any celebration however large or small there is the gloriously situated Rooftop Garden.
