Staycations Ireland: #InThePynck at Trim Castle Hotel
HOME to the ancient High Kings of Ireland, the Royal County of Meath Ireland offers much to the staycationer from visits to historic monuments to walking and cycling, horse racing and of course, shopping.
In a recent staycation for InThePynck, the formerly walled town of Trim was a delightful discovery of fashionable boutiques by Irish brands and designers, easily walkable and always the iconic Trim Castle in the background.
Up close and personal, the castle with its curtained walls and towers sits just opposite the 12th Century Trim Castle Hotel, the home of ‘Braveheart’ and the redubbed ‘King John’s Castle’, and quite comfortably beside staycation destination of Trim Castle Hotel.
While the largely stone-wrought hotel pays homage to its stately neighbour its sympathetically designed edifice receives a contemporary aspect from the glass-and-steel edifice presented to the nearby town and in stunning vistas to the castle.
Inside the Covid 19 safety certified surroundings is pure comfort and luxury with elegantly appointed public spaces and bedrooms. Currently open for breakfast, Jules Restaurant looks over part of the town of Trim while in the evening for delicious steak and chips in Bailey’s Bar there are glimpses of Trim Castle, and for any celebration however large or small there is the gloriously situated Rooftop Garden.
“(One of) the most special and unique things we offer is the Rooftop Bar,” said Hotel Marketing and Wedding Co-ordinator Geraldine Farrell. “On the Rooftop (Bar) we can host civil ceremonies and drinks receptions, and the hotel’s banqueting suite also (features) floor to ceiling views of Trim Castle.”
Trim Castle Hotel is ideal for couples planning their 2023 wedding, as a base to visit the more than 12 kilometres of seafront not far away, for outdoor activity packages and conferences or to simply take a break away with family and friends. The hotel reopened to the general public on 26 July and for further information https://www.trimcastlehotel.com.
