Irish Red Cross – I thought it was the last minute I would see my kids
“I thought it was the last minute I would see my kids”
These were words shared with me from a mother living in Gaza.
Can you imagine yourself in such a dangerous situation? Worrying each moment if it’s your last. Or worse, your children’s last.
It’s hard to explain just how much she’s facing right now. COVID-19 remains an urgent problem, with only about 10% of the population vaccinated.
But then the fighting started. And there was no disguising the sound of bombs – or of her children’s terrified screams in the night.
The people of Gaza find danger and destruction all around them.
And that’s why I’m writing to you today. Your help is urgently needed. You can deliver life-saving aid right now – to those in Gaza or wherever the need is greatest.
Would you please send a gift of €75 or whatever amount you can today?
Your gift to the Irish Red Cross will help provide food and medication to people who need you. It could be someone like the Palestinian mother. Or someone sick with COVID-19 in India. Thanks to you, we can help wherever the next disaster will strike.
Your gift to the Irish Red Cross will go where the need is most urgent. You’ll provide food and medication.
you’ll save lives.

Imagine… your gift of €75, or even €125 if that’s possible for you, will travel to wherever the need is greatest in the world. There, it will help – perhaps a mother like the one I mentioned.
Your generosity today could mean everything to someone tomorrow. Safety, healing, food, or rescue… it’s the gift you can give today.
I’m counting on your kindness. Because when the world has turned away, knowing you have a friend to count on means so much!
With great gratitude,
Catrina Sheridan
