Winter Wardrobe Nails

Feel free to share:

Now that summer has firmly retreated into our memories it is time to stride forward to winter charm. Whilst pastel colours were all the rage for summer nails, it’s time to put them away and turn back to our winter classics as well as some new exciting twists to level up your wardrobe.

Every winter will see the rise of darker nail colour and our staples of oxblood, navy, and black never go out of style. They go with everything whilst also bringing the festive spirit polished and chic.

Now you don’t have to splurge just to get the look, if you want to treat yourself then go for it but you can also achieve these looks at home. If you are doing an at home manicure, make sure you prep your nails properly before so that you are getting the most out of your manicure. Start by giving your nails a really good clean with soap and a nail brush, trim to the length you would like them to be and file until smooth. Then whack a bit of OPI cuticle oil on and push back your cuticles this is key to get that really clean, chic nail look. Cut your cuticles using a cuticle cutter, buff up the nail, add a strengthening base coat and you are ready to begin!

Abstract French
A popular trend this year has been an abstract take on a French manicure a timeless classic with a modern twist. A nude base with the white coat and trace any kind of swirl you like, cover with a top coat and you are good to go!

Hot Tip
A trend that also seems to be in keeping with this winter is doing a clean and elegant base on the nail and painting the tips a different colour. This will spruce up your nails but will still go with everything if you can’t quite decide on a colour and is very easy to change.

Skittles Mani
As coined by Lindsay Schallon, “a skittles mani” is a fabulous way to groove up your nails if you can’t decide on a singular colour. Lindsay attributes half of its hype to being one of the easiest to do yourself so if you are on a budget but want the aesthetic when you are clicking away at your computer on that cold November afternoon then this is the one for you!

You can also experiment with different tones of the same colour which provide a switch up to the classic all one colour but still looks cohesive.

And there you have it a few funky ways to jazz up your nails for winter that will go with all of your fits.
