St. Brigid’s Day (Gaelic: Lá Fhéile Bríde) is celebrated annually on February 1st, this year marking 1500 years since the death of the ‘Mother Saint’ of Ireland. According to medieval Irish biography of saints, she was an abbess (Mother Superior) who founded several convents of nuns, most notably that of Kildare, which was one of the most important in Ireland. Today, craftsmen each with a lifetime’s experience craft our celtic inspired collections nestled in the same Curragh plains in the heart of Kildare making these pieces particularly special.
