Feel free to share:

THE USA polo team will be returning to Polo Wicklow this May for a full weekend of celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of Ireland’s only year-round, all-weather arena just outside of Wicklow Town.

Wicklow Polo Manager and anniversary events manager Siobhan Herbst will lead Ireland against the USA, returning after three years for the celebration weekend

Returning greats from the USA polo team include Eileen Flint, Jim De Angelis and Liz Brayboy who will face Ireland led by Siobhan Herbst on 13 May, the second day of the celebration weekend (Friday-Sunday 12-15 May). Polo Wicklow was founded in 1993 by Irish polo legend Michael Herbst, fulfilling a dream to establish facilities for polo to be played year-round and is currently run by polo manager daughter, Siobhan.

“The USA team will be back after a three-year break,” said Siobhan Herbst. “We will run a (low goal) novice tournament in the arena (and) then Saturday and Sunday will be a 0-goal tournament on (our) home field and the USA will play too. I hope can all make it and help give the USA team a great welcome.”

Scheduled events during the celebrations include live traditional Irish music followed by the anniversary black-tie ball in the arena clubhouse. For tickets and information on how to get there phone Siobhan Herbst at (+353) 87 286 9691 or email siobhan@polowicklow.com.
