Moldova Uncorked – A wine adventure
Unlock the secrets of Moldova’s world-renowned wines at an exclusive tasting event. Join Wine of Moldova for an evening of wine. This consumer wine tasting in Dublin will featuring some of Moldova’s top wines. Hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova to Ireland in association with ONVV, the state body responsible for promoting Moldovan wines globally, this event offers a unique opportunity to explore the rich history, quality, and diversity of Moldovan wines.
Moldova has a winemaking tradition that dates back over 5,000 years and has 130,000 hectares of vineyards across four wine regions: Valul lui Traian, Stefan Voda, Codru and Divin. Moldova has made impressive progress in improving the quality of its wines, winning numerous medals at prestigious international competitions such as Decanter World Wine Awards, Mundus Vini, Concours Mondial du Bruxelles, and the International Wine Challenge.
At the event, you will have the chance to sample a wide variety of Moldovan wines, including those made from native grape varieties such as Rara Neagră, Feteasca Neagră, Feteasca Regală, and Feteasca Albă, as well as European noble grapes and Caucasian grapes like Saperavi and Rcațiteli. In addition to exceptional wines, Moldova is famous for having the largest underground cellars in the world, such as “Cricova” and “Mileștii Mici”, which store millions of bottles of wine.
