Hmd Skyline – The ‘Brat Girl’ Trend

This summer is inspired by the ‘Brat Girl’ trend. It’s going to be cheeky, mischievous and convention-bucking, and to capture and enjoy it all you’re going to need a great phone.

It’s therefore with perfect timing that this year’s tech disruptors, Human Mobile Devices, drops its stunning new hero handset, HMD Skyline. Just like a ‘Brat Girl’, the new HMD Skyline is unafraid to break conventional rules or expectations, and Human Mobile Devices once again proves great design doesn’t have to cost a lot.

HMD Skyline is a phone for the creators, and a step change from everything that’s gone before. The off-the-chart camera capabilities are every selfie queen’s dream, there’s a chilled Detox Mode coming in August, AND it’s all wrapped up in killer design that’ll have heads swivelling at any good party.

Available in two stand-out colourways, Neon Pink and Twisted Black, HMD Skyline is primed, ready and loaded with every possible camera tool you’d ever want.

In homage to HMD Skyline’s super-powerful photo capabilities, Human Mobile Devices has turned to GenZ superstar snapperRosanna Elettra, to capture iconic launch images of the phone. Positioning HMD Skyline as the star of the show, the striking 10-image photo series shot and edited entirely on the phone showcases a number of different scenarios and situations typical of a Gen Z group’s night out in a big, cosmopolitan city.

A bona fide HMD Skyline acolyte, Rosanna offers her top tips and tricks for shooting stills on the new device:

  • Use HMD Skyline’s Capture Fusion function to make your pics look like they were taken by a pro. This super cool feature merges frames from the ultrawide and telephoto cameras with the main camera, giving you more detail in your pics. It’s perfect for those wide shots where you want everything to be super clear and detailed
  • Designated photographer for the night? Night Mode’s got your back. It automatically kicks in when it’s dark, but you can also turn it on manually for longer exposures. Plus, Optical Image Stabilisation helps keep your shots steady and clear, even when you’re snapping mid-party
  • Make your subjects the main character with 50mm Portrait Mode. It creates a beautiful blurred background effect, similar to a DSLR camera, and is perfect for close-up portraits, making your subject the star of the show

The 50MP front camera comes with autofocus and eye-tracking to ensure the sharpest of selfies, and with HMD Skyline, creators don’t even need to press a button or set a timer to take a picture. The device comes with in-built ‘selfie gesture’ tech, which means all users have to do is to look at the phone while making the universal peace sign (or one of three other hand signs) to activate the camera.

The 108MP Hybrid OIS triple rear camera is equally impressive. Portrait mode allows for stunning 50mm shots in bokeh effect and crisp close-ups can be achieved with the x4 zoom function. Stunning scenery and group shots can be captured using the 0.5 ultra-wide mode and there’s AI Capture Fusion too to add maximum detail to zoom images.

And the good news just keeps on coming. In August, the super-slick smartphone for the ages will come with a digital Detox Mode – a powerful new bespoke app allowing users to tailor their detox to their needs, focus on the real world and enjoy a balanced smartphone experience. Everyone needs a break from time to time.

HMD Skyline has a fixed with up to 48-hour batteryand Qi2 magnetic charging for slick wireless charging stations. It is available now at hmd.com/ie and in-store in August for €499.  Get yours now and slay the summer.
