What a way to celebrate your 25th anniversary year in business, by winning the Wine Bar of the Year Award for 2024.
ELY located the heart of Dublin’s business district, in Ely Place, Dublin 2 is just around the corner from Dáil Éireann on Merrion Street. Founded in 1999 by Erik and Michelle Robson as a wine bar, a rare establishment to find in Dublin city, back in the day; ELY stood out from the crowd thanks to its great menu featuring organic food, not as prominent as it is today; as well as an incredible selection of wines by the glass.
Since 1999 many more wine bars have opened their doors in Dublin, but ELY was one of the first with a premium offering and it quicky established a very loyal following. The venue quickly became the go-to wine bar for a generation of people working Dublin.

The Bar of the Year Awards are organised by Ashville Media Group, publishers of Hotel & Catering Review. The awards are sponsored by Roe & Co Whiskey and Makers Mark. This year over 500 licensing industry professionals attended to celebrate the Bar of the Year Awards winners at the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road on Monday 19th August, 2024.
