Perfectly Mature Claret: 2000 Clos du Marquis
Clos du Marquis is often described as a mini Léoville Las Cases. It’s crafted by the expert team at the superb Second Growth property, but with fruit from a separate vineyard on the estate.
We’ve just secured a small parcel of the outstanding 2000 vintage. After almost two decades maturing in the château’s cellars, it is beautifully mellow, with an almost velveteen texture, and subtle notes of tobacco and cedar.
Suitably grand and perfectly mature, it could be just the thing for 25th December.
