Miami Swim Week Summit, Fashion Tech + Top Swimwear Trends
Missoni Mare swimwear
Miami Swim Week Summit was held on a virtual platform on July 15 and 16. The two day to-the-trade virtual summit featured leading fashion and swimwear professionals providing expert tools and information to the swimwear industry. The event was held on zoom for both start-up and established swimwear labels and offered an enormous amount of information necessary to grow a new swimwear brand and plan for Miami Swim Week.
Some of the topics covered were how to create diversity and inclusion in a small business, how to build a more sustainable brand, how to connect with swimwear buyers and the topic I found incredibly interesting, how to use technology to better your bottom line.
The presenter of the technology segment was Moh Ducis, former swimwear designer and Founder and CEO of DC Swim Week, an omni-channel platform for Independent fashion designers working at the intersection of tech and fashion. Moh spoke about a number of different ground-breaking technologies that can help any business generate added revenue, not just the swimwear industry. And who doesn’t want to better their bottom line? So I contacted Moh after the Summit and asked him to describe these cutting-edge technologies in more depth for our Pynck readers.
A brief intro to explore the new fashion technologies before we enjoy the top swimwear trends:

360 degrees and 3D modeling design technology software.
Still images of a product are photographed in sequence on a specialized 360 photo turntable that rotates on a single plane. When the images are displayed in 360 view software your customer can rotate around the product and zoom into specific areas. 3D modeling and fabric behavior software shows a buyer how the garment will move on your body. Take a look at how it’s done:

The clients can see the product in 3-D, allowing the consumer to interact with the product in the viewer. Here’s how it works:
Virtual dressing rooms with partnership with Forma + Bolt metrics.
Apparel retailers are facing unprecedented challenges in a post-COVID world, from temporary store closures during lockdown to the complexities of reopening while providing a safe shopping experience. With fitting rooms often off-limits, trying-on clothes in-store is limited, if not impossible. Body data and sizing technology company Bold Metrics has teamed up with virtual try-on company Forma to provide a powerful solution for apparel brands navigating these challenges. See how it’s done:
