A favour for a colleague one Friday left renewable technology engineer Emmet Bosonnet standing in front of mountains of scrap metal discarded by the Irish construction industry, and it was from here that the idea for KOPPER KREATION was born. Fusing a love of industrial design, a keen eye for functionality and a desire to create something from what would otherwise be waste, the KOPPER KREATION collection of homewares and lighting are designed and hand finished by Emmet at his studio/shop at the Chocolate Factory in Dublin’s City Centre.
From candelabras to iPad holders, each item is unique and made to last a lifetime. The natural patina that develops with metal in time creates deep shades of purple and green amongst the deep copper tones from what were formerly gas and plumbing pipes. Building on the industrial aesthetic of the products, Lighting fixtures are designed around the exposed Edison bulb with a choice of filament styles to choose from.
Emmet thoroughly enjoys bespoke projects and collaborating with homeowners and business to bring their vision to fruition and has worked on a number of private residences and business in the greater Dublin Area.

Kopper Kreation is an industrial homewares brand that uses reclaimed and recycled materials to create unique and eye-catching homewares. Emmet Bosonnet is the creator and founder. He is from Swords in North County Dublin and has a degree in Engineering. Emmet has always been inspired by industrial design and has a keen eye for practical and functional products. Emmet loves the raw materials of Copper, Steel and Brass and is inspired by all things industrial and finding alternative uses for items that tend to be disregarded or sent to a recycling centre or landfill.
Sustainability is at the heart of the Kopper Kreation ethos and Emmet strives to use reclaimed and recycled materials and packaging as much as possible. Emmet loves to spend as much time as possible down in the local scrap yard sifting through the various treasure that people throw away.
All products are handmade and finished to enhance the natural qualities of the different raw materials. Emmet loves the natural patina that develops with metal in time, in particular the beautiful greens and blues that develop in copper over a longer period of time. All Kopper Kreation products are produced with longevity in mind and production techniques that ensure they are to last a lifetime.
Emmet works from his studio/shop in The Chocolate Factory which is a vibrant creative community in the heart of Dublin 1. Here he makes and sells his own work and also the work or other creatives in the building and other Irish designers of a similar vein who he has met along the way. It’s open Wednesdays to Saturdays and is called ‘Raw Material – Industrial Design Store’
