Irish Milliner Emily Jean O Byrne is the Founder and Creative Director at the premium headwear brand Emily Jean Millinery. From an atelier situated in the picturesque village of Moycullen in Galway, the brand has built up a reputation for high end, individual and bespoke designs.
In addition to their luxury, bespoke headpieces, the brand has recently launched a stylish collection of handmade Turbands™ – (turban style headbands). Capturing a carefree summer vibe, the collection comes in a wide range of prints and patterns, from fun, vibrant geometric prints, to classic and sophisticated soft floral designs.
According to Emily Jean, the Turband™ range is all about effortless style, “I wanted to design a range that was both daywear and affordable, while remaining stylish at the same time. The Turbands™ create instant volume and style that can carry you from the beach, straight to your neighbours garden party, without needing to worry about your hair!”

Established in Ireland, the company first launched in 2007 with the opening of a Galway City showroom, having built up a reputation for high end, individual and bespoke designs. The brand now has over ten years’ experience in hat styling and guiding clients through every aspect of their appearance for special occasions.
In 2018 the Emily Jean – Millinery Atelier relocated to the picturesque village of Moycullen, just outside Galway city and it is now considered a destination atelier for millinery in Ireland, attracting customers from across the country as well as many international visitors.
Due to growing international interest and overseas inquiries the designer has established an online consultation service, where direct styling advice can be provided to help determine a preferred design and ensure that it works with the overall outfit.
The hat making studio offers wedding hats for Mother of the Bride, special occasion wear, horse racing events, as well as a Bridal collection. Every piece is handmade by the studio millinery team in Moycullen, who provide a fully bespoke service throughout the year.
