Tod’s Creative Director Walter Chiapponi commissioned a detail-orientated nonchalant camera to film Todesque models through Villa Necchi’s labyrinthine rooms in Milan. The collection Chiapponi envisioned for SS21 included a performance by Norwegian-American musician Okay Kaya singing alongside a family of beautiful models including Karen Elson, Irina Shayk, and Mariacarla Boscon.

Apart from the shirts, tops and bags, the whole collection thrived on oversizing garments in order to satisfy plays with proportion, tone and general style. Trousers were especially floaty, low-rise, sometimes belted with rich red monogrammed leather belts. But let’s face it, the real stars of the digital show were the leather goods. Ballerinas were of different shades of brown, as if cut from a more sturdy shoe, and laced up to the knee, around the trousers. Suede mocassins were also a highlight, as were the 70’s platforms which elevated the comfortable looks. Tod’s created here a multifunctional, malleable wardrobe. It artfully introduced details revealing the couture nature of the collection. Last but not least, the bags added the necessary touch of vibrancy needed. Light blue, sunflower yellow, dusty pink, neons and even animal patterns elegantly coloured Tod’s cool maroquinerie.
