Vice President Harris wore a regal purple coat with matching dress by Christopher John Rogers and accessorized the look with a strand of pearls by Wilfredo Rosado for her inauguration. Rogers, originally from Louisiana, now based in NYC is a black designer and the son of immigrant parents, much like Harris herself. Kamala’s lovely necklace was crafted with Australian South Sea pearls set within large oval 18k gold links, accented with brilliant diamonds.

Alexandra O’Neill is a New York based fashion designer and founder of the luxury womenswear label Markarian. She created a custom ocean blue wool tweed coat, dress and matching face mask for Jill Biden. The coat was designed with dark blue velvet collar and cuffs and worn on top of a tapered dress with a chiffon bodice and scalloped skirt. Both pieces are embellished with Swarovski pearls and crystals placed in a floral pattern on the dress. The color blue was chosen to “signify trust, confidence and stability,” according to a press release from Markarian. Wwd.com.

We did not fail to notice that Joe’s tie coordinated beautifully with Jill’s ensemble.
